Posterior surface near the distal end of the humeral shaft
Insertion
Posterior surface of fibrous capsule of elbow joint
Action
Elevates and tenses the joint capsule posterior to the elbow joint during elbow extension to keep joint capsule from becoming entrapped between the extending bones.

Radial nerve (C7 and C8)
Blood supply
Superior and inferior ulnar collateral arteries and the recurrent interosseous artery.
