Hypothenar muscles
Description
The hypothenar muscles form the muscular eminence at the base of the little finger. Three of the four short muscles surround the metacarpal bone of the thumb, while the fourth muscle is a highly variable slip of muscle that covers the other muscles of the group and attaches into the hypodermis and dermis on the ulnar side of the palm. In general, these muscles help produce finely controlled movements of the little finger. The ulnar nerve is the common nerve supply to the four muscles.
