The mobile wrist joint, which occurs between the distal end of the radius and the proximal carpal bones is closely associated with the distal radio-ulnar joint. An articular disc separates the two joints into distinct synovial capsules.
Wrist joint – ellipsoid joint
Distal end of the radius with the lunate and scaphoid bones.
Numerous strong ligaments support and limit the movements of the bones in these joints.
