Metatarsophalangeal plantar ligaments

This is a series of strong ligaments on the plantar surface of the metatarsophalangeal joints, situated between the collateral ligaments to either side. They have grooved plantar surfaces for the flexor tendons of the digits.
Stabilize the metatarsophalangeal joints and limit extension of these joints.
