Description
Stout ligamentous cords situated on the lateral and medial sides of the metatarsophalangeal joints. They run obliquely across the joint from the posterior aspect of the metatarsal bone to the anterior aspect of the proximal phalanx.
Function
Stabilize the metatarsophalangeal joint. Limit lateral movements of the joint.
