This is a long, flat ligamentous band that attaches to a broad aspect of the plantar surface of the calcaneus and projects distally to attach to the plantar surface of the cuboid bone and the bases of the second through fifth metatarsal bones.
Stabilizes the tarsal bones and is the major support of the lateral longitudinal arch.
