Description
A triangular ligamentous sheet that binds the first rib to the clavicle. Its broad base attaches to the superior margin of the sternal end of the first rib and the adjoining costal cartilage and its narrowed apex attaches to the inferior margin of the clavicle at its medial end. It has anterior and posterior laminae.
Function
Stabilizes the sternoclavicular joint. Limits axial rotation of the clavicle.
