Description
A short, narrow band that is often divided into two, one in front of the other. It passes from the lateral surface of the zygomatic arch and its tubercle to the lateral posterior border of the neck of the mandible.
Function
Stabilizes the lateral side of the temporomandibular joint and helps prevent the mandible from dislocating when it is opened.
