Tertiary vesicular follicles (mature or ripe vesicular follicles, Graafian follicles) are ovarian follicles during a certain stage of folliculogenesis. They are marked by the formation of a fluid-filled cavity (the antrum) next to the oocyte. Tertiary follicles can become remarkable in size, hindered only by the availability of follicle stimulating hormone (FSH), which it is dependent on in this stage.
