Description
The respiratory system’s primary function is gas exchange, which occurs between the alveoli of the lungs and the pulmonary capillaries. It diffuses gases into and out of the blood. It perfuses the lungs so that the organs and tissues of the body receive blood that is rich in oxygen and low in carbon dioxide. The main components of the respiratory system include the: Nasal and oral cavities, Pharynx, Larynx, Trachea, Bronchial tree and the lungs.
